Warcop: Is that notice an inference that 37042 could emerge at any moment? Unlikely as it has been at Warcop for eleven years with little sign of restoration progress during that time.

Carlisle: 35018 'British India Line' lays over in Carlisle before returning south with the last 2022 'Pendle Dalesman' on 27th September. Looks like the weedkiller train needs to run through these sidings alongside the station.

Crianlarich: Just to the north of Crianlarich, the 1897 spur to the surviving western section of the Callander & Oban line diverges and descends. It was not regularly used by passenger trains until 1965 when the eastern section of the C & O through Killin Junction was closed. This view is from the Mallaig portion of the ex-12.22 service from Glasgow Queen Street, reversing at Fort William, diverging away from the Oban line on Wednesday, 7th September 2022. We came back from Oban to Glasgow a week later after three nights in Fort William and four nights on the Isle of Mull.

Crooklands Wharf: The Crooklands Aqueduct (Bridge 165) takes the Peasey Beck underneath the Lancaster Canal. The beck is a tributary of the River Bela, which in turn flows into the River Kent. It carries the canal water supply down from Killington Lake reservoir but, just to the north of this aqueduct, a weir diverts some of the flow into a canal feeder channel.
