Ramsbottom: Visiting 26007 arrives at Ramsbottom on 16 September 2022, the first day of the ELR Autumn Diesel Gala.
Boat of Garten: The second of the Strathspey Railway's September Diesel Mondays had Class 31 D5862 and 37674 top and tail the days trains. Pictured north of Boat of Garten on the way to Broomhill.
Loch Awe: Loch Awe station with Loch Awe Hotel above. In the former goods yard, beyond the carriage, trucks can be seen delivering new sleepers for the line.
Exhibition Centre: 318258 at Exhibition Centre station, lost beneath ghastly concrete slip roads for the monstrous M8 motorway and seen from the open top Glasgow city sightseeing bus on the morning of Tuesday, 6th September 2022. I am not that familiar with Glasgow's suburban lines so I am unsure where this train is headed to but we were held at traffic lights long enough to see it depart and head away from the camera.
Muirend: A new 'hedgehog hole' in the fencing at Muirend.
Muirend: Network Rail has completed one mile of boundary fencing renewals with a difference on Glasgow's south side. Hedgehog-friendly holes have been included in a timber fencing renewal at Muirend to allow the little creatures to move freely in and around railway property. The photograph shows Jonathan Callis with a Hedgehog sign at Muirend.
Galgate: 66422 hauls 37425, in Regional Railways livery, from Crewe to Carlisle seen approaching Hampson Lane on 16th September 2022. 37425 is one of the DRS 37/4s recently offered on a sale and lease back arrangement, but that has since been withdrawn (See recent news item).
Dunfermline Town: ScotRail 158711 + 158734 approaching Dunfermline Town from the north on 16 September 2022. The train is the 1455 Cowdenbeath - Edinburgh Waverley.
Chelfham Viaduct: Majestic, but silent since 1935 when the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway closed, Chelfham Viaduct is ready for narrow gauge trains again although it will still be some years before they cross. This view is from one of the buses taking UK Railtours' day-trippers from Barnstaple station to the revived section of the L & B at Woody Bay, on 17th April 2016.
Venice Santa Lucia: Venice Santa Lucia station, facing the Grand Canal, in 1983.
Aviemore: A BR Sulzer Type 2 at Aviemore, after arrival with the 2.45 service from Elgin via Craigellachie, on 12th August 1965. A BRCW Type 2 approaches to couple up at the other end of the single coach train, which it will shunt into another platform to form the 4.50pm service back along the Speyside line to Craigellachie (see [[82470]] and [[82323]]).
Largs Pier: 'MV Balmoral' is now moored in Bristol, see [[82488]]. Here she is going astern out of Largs pier in 1995. I was involved with 'PS Waverley' and at that time this vessel was bought by a company associated with the Waverley and operated by Waverley Excursions. I did not like her as she rolled terribly. We once caught her for a cruise but by the time we reached Helensburgh my youngest, not a good sailor, was green so it was off and home by train.
Bedford: Thameslink 700137, and EMR 360106, using Platforms 4 and 3 respectively at Bedford on 25th July 2022. Thameslink services turn back towards London at this station but EMR trains continue northwards.
