Towcester: Sheep may safely graze on the trackbed of the Slow, Mouldy and Jolting. The wooden post in the background is approximately on the centre of the trackbed; the road bridge near Shoesley on which I was standing was infilled well before the reign of National Highways. The road surface suffered uneven settlement around 10 years ago, and had to be remade. View looks towards Towcester and Tiffield. (See image [[27545]])

Cloughton: Old gas lamp outside the former Cloughton Station, North Yorkshire, in April 2009, complete with suspended B&B totem. Located 4 miles north of Scarborough on the coastal route to Whitby the station famously hosted as many as 3 camping coaches from LNER days until shortly before closure by BR in 1965. Note the surviving waterslide transfers inside the lamp glasses, once a common site at UK railway stations (see image [[20678]]).

Eggesford: 143621, from Barnstaple to Exeter Central, waiting in what is now the only crossing loop on the Barnstaple line at Eggesford station, seen from UK Railtours' excursion to Barnstaple for the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway on 17th April 2016. Quite a few of the Pacer 143s have been preserved but this example was scrapped in 2021.

Sedgwick Aqueduct: This substantial aqueduct (Bridge 178) carried the Lancaster Canal through the middle of Sedgwick village, a short distance to the south of Kendal. The channel is still in place across the aqueduct but most of the canal around here was filled in after the 1942 closure.

Blackpool North: Most of Blackpool North station is out of shot to the right of this elevated view in September 2022. Of interest however, just visible behind the hoarding, is the under-construction underpass that will lead directly to the new tram terminus on the other side of the new building.
