Leyland: ELR Gala movement 40145 passes Leyland on 13 September 2022 whilst working light engine from Carnforth Steamtown to the East Lancashire Railway. This was a positioning move to get the loco to the ELR Autumn Diesel Gala on 16 & 17 September.
Clyde Place Quay: Looking down river from Bridge Wharf in 1967, with 'PS Waverley' about to depart.
Maudland Bridge: A view east under the bridge that carries Maudland Bank road over the railway. Under the left hand part was the chord line that connected the Longridge branch via a flat crossing over the Lancaster line direct to the Fleetwood/Blackpool line. Under the right hand bridge was the Preston to Longridge line and which survived until the late 1980s, latterly to serve the Deepdale coal concentration depot.
Dunfermline Queen Margaret: Dunfermline Queen Margaret station under construction in 1999.
Southend Pier [Shore]: One of the new, 2021 delivered, Pier Railway trains, unfortunately not in service on this day, on left and the surviving 1986 train, 'Sir William Heygate' that provided the service on this day, seen here at Shore station looking towards Pier Head, on 29th August 2022.
Whifflet Upper: The Rail Society of Scotland Tour of 18 October 1969 has reached Whifflet Upper on the Caley line to Airdrie. The station platform spanned both the line from Motherwell to Coatbridge Central and Whifflet to Sunnyside line. DMU is SC51467. The R. B. Tennent & Sons Ltd works is in the background right.

Kirkby-in-Furness: 156486 leaves Kirkby-in-Furness heading down the east side of the Duddon Estuary on 25th August 2022, with one more stop (at Askam) before its destination at Barrow. These coastal 156s take around two and a half hours for the journey between Barrow and Carlisle, but it is certainly scenic.
Wemyss Bay: DEPV 'Talisman' at Wemyss Bay on 15th May 1965, dressed overall to mark the centenary of the opening of the original station and pier.
Murhill Quarry Quay: In theory, the prominent weed in the foreground should ruin this picture. But I think it just adds to the atmosphere of no rush, no fuss. View looks towards Bath, in a round about way, in September 2021. (The quarry quay was on the opposite bank.)
Newcomen Junction: A class 005 nears Newcomen Junction with a fuel train from Dublin docks to Sligo. Beyond are the derelict remains of the Royal Canal, since refurbished and reopened.
Yeovil Hendford: They do seem to have rather large dragonflies in Yeovil [see also image 47850]. Otherwise, this wood carving fastened to the underside of a skew bridge on the foot and cyclepath from Pen Mill station to Lysander Road is quite a work of art.
Birmingham International: A Euston to Wolverhampton Pendolino calls at Birmingham International in November 2006. To the left of the station is the airport and on the right the NEC.
