Gainsborough Lea Road: UK Railtours' return excursion behind 60017, making its 'round-the-world' way back from the north-east to London King's Cross, passing Gainsborough Lea Road station on the one-time Great Northern & Great Eastern Joint Railway, on the evening of Saturday, 11th June 2016.
Craigellachie [2nd]: The Scottish Region's 'Grand Tour No 1' is at Ferndearn Pool, just south of Craigellachie, on 25 March 1967. It is on the Speyside 'Whisky Line', which is dotted with distilleries. Class 24s No D5070 and D5127 are moving their 18 carriage load at a leisurely pace towards Aviemore, where a third Class 24 will be added for the climb to Druimuachdar summit. : Train operator, Northern, has today revealed details of light detection and radar (LIDAR) scanning technology it is installing across its fleet of 345 trains to make journeys by railway safer and more efficient. Chief among the application of LIDAR technology are horizon-scanning cameras that can detect infrastructure defects, environmental threats and maintenance issues. Thermal imaging systems will also be deployed to monitor passenger load factors and provide accurate information to service partners in the event of an emergency. Northern is also aligning its on-board CCTV systems with British Transport Police to enable officers to tune-in to live, high-definition footage on-board its trains.

Perth: 26003 and 26002 join 08720 in the bay platforms at Perth in 1992. 26002 survived the class withdrawal and is on the Strathspey Railway.
Causeway Level Crossing [GWR]: The gate box at Causeway LC on the GWML near Steventon between Didcot and Swindon in September 2011. I gather that the box also oversaw Stocks Lane LC some 300 yards to the east (right).
