Scorton [Lancashire] [1st]: The bright red nameplate identifies this as 68033 'The Poppy', even at a distance. The DRS loco made two light engine trips to Carlisle on 31st January 2022 and is seen near Scorton, heading for Warrington, on the return leg of the first trip on 31st January 2022.
Lancaster: CAF 195110 arriving at Lancaster, with the late running 11.49 Northern service to Manchester Airport in October 2021.
Kirbymoorside: A view east from the road bridge at Kirbymoorside station in October 2009. At this time the station buildings were still standing but the goods yard had been redeveloped and had some industrial buildings over much of the area. Today all this has been swept away with a vets between the station site and the A170 road. Most of the area where the factory had been is now housing.
Hardengreen Viaduct: ScotRail 158728+158719+158729, forming a 6-car southbound Sunday morning service on the Borders Railway, photographed crossing Hardengreen Viaduct on 16 January 2022. The modern viaduct links sections of the old Waverley Route, which had been breached during realignment of the A7 in the late 1990s. Coincidently, the pedestrian footbridge visible in the right background also links sections of the trackbed of a railway route breached by the realigned A7, in this case the former Peebles Railway. The two lines once met less than half a mile north east of here at Hardengreen Junction. (See image [[17896]]).
Parklee Signal Box: BR Standard class 5 4-6-0 no 73058 at the head of a Wemyss Bay - Glasgow semi-fast eastbound near Parklee level crossing on 28 August 1963.
Newport [N and ER]: Newport station, Essex, on the Cambridge main line, looking north in pre-electrification days in October 1979.
Burntisland East Dock: Looking west at Burntisland Dock in 1986 with Bulk handling barge No.5 alongside the unloading crane. The barges were used to tranship bauxite from ocean-going vessels, which would moor out in the Forth estuary. Use of rail for this traffic ceased around 1980 and the track that once ran under the cranes had been cut back to these buffer stops (and was later removed altogether).
Rawtenstall: Looking towards the buffers at the one time through station at Rawtenstall, East Lancashire Railway, in September 2021
Glasgow Central: A morning service from Gourock arriving at Glasgow Central in May 1966, behind Standard 2-6-4 tank 80005.
Hall i' th' Wood: 150002 arrives at Hall i' th' Wood with a Clitheroe to Rochdale service on 20 January 2022. The platforms lie on opposite sides of the A58 Crompton Way and are accessed by long stepped ramps. The platforms are constructed of timber and the waiting facilities are fully air conditioned, an example of which can be seen behind the lamp post on the right.
