Bredbury: Bredbury, looking towards Manchester on 24th January 2022, with a relatively modern main station building (compared to others on this line) on the eastbound platform.
Floriston: Network Rail workers in Cumbria joined forces with a local farmer to keep passengers and freight trains moving on the West Coast main line. During Storm Corrie, which saw windspeeds of over 90mph across the north of the UK, a dangerous 100 feet tall tree was spotted leaning perilously close to the railway at Floriston in Cumbria. Had the tree been toppled by the wind, it could have landed directly onto the track, bringing down the overhead power lines and blocking the path of a train. With the help of a local farmer, the team were able to safely remove the tree and keep passengers on the move.
Earlseat Loading Pad: The former Earlseat Loading Pad is being redeveloped as a works compound for rebuilding the Levenmouth line. This view looks east along the old Methil branch on 1 February 2022. New ballast was delivered the previous week. Another compound is being established at Cameron Bridge (2nd) site.
Portway Park and Ride : Construction of a brand-new railway station to link Portway Park & Ride with the Severn Beach railway line has got underway. Bristol City Council and Network Rail are working together to build the first new railway station within the city of Bristol in 95 years.
Leyburn: Remains of the coal drops in the old goods yard at Leyburn, looking east towards Northallerton in June 2011. See image [[19458]] from 1982. Industrial units now occupy much of the former railway land beyond the far wall, which once incorporated cattle pens. The station entrance and forecourt are behind the camera.
Merryton: Completed service drawing after bridge strengthening work at Merryton carried out by South Lanarkshire Roads department prior to the line to Larkhall reopening. Bridge Number 15 carries the B7078 (old A74) and various works were carried out on this structure, more pictures to follow. This was works that I was lucky to be in charge of. Drawing shows repositioned/replaced service ducts/pipes after strengthening completed
Wykeham: Wykeham station is still used as the base for the Wykeham Estate, and kept in good condition. The platform is intact with a short section of the trackbed west of the station building infilled to provide a circulation area complete with a display board showing the route of the line and earlier years views around the station upto closure. View is along the westernmost section of the platform from the short infilled trackbed area, with a permissive path running west along the trackbed towards the former Ruston station site.
Elsenham: The up platform at Elsenham station in north Essex, on the Cambridge main line, seen here looking north in pre-electrification days, in October 1979. In 1913, this became the junction for the Elsenham & Thaxted Light Railway, which terminated seemingly in the middle of nowhere in a field, well outside the delightful historic Essex market town of Thaxted. The branch closed in 1952 after less than 40 years of operation; the Thaxted branch platform was to the right of the platform seen here and there were still some remains of it in 1979. I haven't been to this station for years so I don't know if the remains are still there in 2022. The Thaxted station site was still identifiable in 1979 too, then an industrial estate, but again I've no idea if this is still the case,

Inverkeithing: Levenmouth ballast. 66087 leads a Millerhill - Thornton South Junction (for the Levenmouth branch) ballast train through Inverkeithing on 27 January 2022. On the rear was 66065. These run T/W/Th and drop their load in the early hours.
