Houston and Crosslee: HR 103 is making light of the 1 in 80 gradient from Cart Junction and is about to pass through Houston & Crosslee station, which was a fair distance from both Houston and Crosslee, but close to the village of Brookfield. It is heading for Greenock Princes Pier on 17 April 1965 as part of the Easter Rambler No 4 tour of Renfrewshire.
Erith: Exterior of Erith, south-east London, one of the original North Kent Railway stations opened with the line on 30th July 1849, seen on 2nd March 2013. The main building is no longer in railway use, intending passengers purchasing tickets from a machine and entering through a gap on the left.
Auchmuty Paper Mill: Looking back from the headshunt at the Tullis Russell siding in 1993.
Guide Bridge: Driving Trailer 59602 of a Class 506 Manchester Glossop Hadfield EMU at Guide Bridge on 5 March 1983.
Lostock Hall Junction: First steam of 2022. 45699 Galatea with 45627 on the smokebox door, 'Sierra Leone' nameplates on the splasshers and 45562 on the cabside travels between Farington Jct and Lostock Hall Jct whilst working the RTC 'Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express' tour from Manchester to Carlisle on a very dull morning of 22 January 2022.
Reddish South: I knew the Denton line was used for empty stock movements from Newton Heath but didn't expect to see TfW 158820 passing through on 20th January 2022. The unit was working from Doncaster to Abbey Foregate at Shrewsbury, presumably after some specialised repairs. There were once two island platforms here and four tracks together with a large yard but it has been a basic single line for many years.
Balornock Shed: A close-up of Ferryhill A2 60532 'Blue Peter' at Balornock (St Rollox) depot. The A2 had worked in with the 1.30pm Aberdeen to Glasgow, a regular duty at the time, the locomotive returning back north with the 11.30pm from Buchanan St.
St Pancras: Looking out over the domestic platforms of the extended St Pancras station on a Saturday morning in July 2005. Behind the camera work is underway on the international station, which was not scheduled to become operational for more than two years. View is from the top of the escalators serving the Pancras Road entrance (see image [[79640]]). The train standing at platform 12 is a Midland Mainline HST service to Nottingham
Forge Valley: The former Forge Valley station, which is now standing empty after the site was vacated recently by North Yorkshire C.C. Highways, in December 2021. The station building and platform are still generally intact, although a derelict portable building is on the platform alongside the building. The goods shed is in good condition due to it being used for storage of items over the years. There is a long entrance road up to the station, with an old concrete gatepost on the right by the entrance. What the future holds for the station only time will tell. View is looking west from the end of the platform by the wall that has replaced the crossing gate.
Edinburgh Waverley: 46033 at Waverley east end in 1975. The former D170 had been given its TOPS number the previous year and was in service until 1983.
