Long Meg Mine: British Gypsum's Andrew Barclay 0-4-0 'J N Darbyshire' faintly resembles some sort of woodland creature peering from the undergrowth, as it pauses during shunting operations at Long Meg anhydrite mine, on 3rd July 1967.

Keswick: After the Keswick line closed in 1972 some small sections were used as cycle trails and footpaths but the small tunnel between Keswick and Briery was sealed up [[39079]]. More recently, various sections between Keswick and Threlkeld have been linked to create a single surfaced route and a cycling tunnel has been created where the trail passes under the A66. This is the west portal on 1st December 2021.

Peebles CR and NBR Junction: The Caledonian and North British systems were connected at Peebles by a link line running east from the CR terminus for a quarter of a mile along the Tweed before turning north and crossing the river to reach Peebles Junction, just short of the NB station. Part of the embankment that once carried the link line north of the river runs alongside Tweed Avenue, seen here looking east in 2017, with the embankment incorporating an old infilled bridge.

Silloth New Dock: On 1 June 2019 the NBR Study Group visited Silloth and were given a presentation on the harbour. As we were about to leave, the harbourmaster told us of a surviving length of track alongside the New Dock, but did so too late to get a photo! I managed to grab a shot of the short length of rails from the bus as we left.

Dumfries: A Derby DMU operated Glasgow to Carlisle service heads away from Dumfries, passing the large but rather empty-looking engine shed, on 5th June 1965.
