Kentallen: View of the main building and remains of the southbound platform from the south end of the former Kentallen station in 1996.
Goathland: Steamy exchange at Goathland in October 2009. A4 Pacific no 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley calls with a mid afternoon NYMR Whitby - Pickering service.
Grosmont: Train from Middlesbrough to Whitby, which reversed at Battersby, arriving at Grosmont station, in June 1982. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway platforms are on the left but out of view.
Pickering: At Costa Beck, to the east of Pickering on the Helmsley line, there was both a level crossing and, just to the east of this, a bridge over the Costa Beck. The bridge over the beck has lost its deck but the original abutments appear to be in situ at both sides, possibly now faced with concrete, with an Environment Agency monitoring station now sited close to the west side abutment. View is in a north easterly direction to the site of the Costa Beck bridge by the weir. This is believed to have been bridge HMY34
Rosyth: As well as being at an odd angle Rosyth's ticket office was unusual in that it was on 'stilts' so as to be at street level - yet it wasn't on the street. It survived the ticket office closures of the 1980s but, unlike other part-day ticket offices in Fife it closed in the 1990s. It was demolished shortly after this picture was taken in April 1999.
Grosmont: A DMU from Middlesbrough arriving at Grosmont platform 1 off the Esk Valley line on a summer afternoon in 2013. The route between here and the end of the line at Whitby is shared with NYMR services.
Boat of Garten: The Up waiting room at Boat of Garten Station in 1971, before the start of restoration work by the Strathspey Railway.
Brock Water Troughs: Before railway services put paid to them the Lancaster Canal was famous for its fast packet boat services between Preston and Kendal. These made the entire 56 mile journey in seven to eight hours and this was achieved by changing the horses around every four miles. This canalside house at Brock was once a stable block and changeover point for the packet boat horses. It is close by the railway too and a track machine can just be seen heading south on 15th January 2020. Photo ancillary to a permitted exercise walk under Corona virus legislation.
Wimbledon: LUL S7 stock with a District Line service to Edgware Road waiting to depart from the terminus at Wimbledon, on 30th September 2016. This station is an interchange with National Rail and Croydon Tram services. Until 5th May 1941, the terminus platforms at this station were also served by the Southern Railway Waterloo to Wimbledon via East Putney service, withdrawn as a WWII economy and never reinstated. National Rail still use the line for empty stock and diversionary workings with the occasional railtour.
