Newcraighall North Junction: An Edinburgh bound train off the Borders line approaching the Newcraighall stop on a cold January morning in 2016, with passengers at the platform beyond the bridge eagerly awaiting its arrival. The ScotRail 158 is about to join the E&D at Newcraighall North Junction - not to be confused with Newcraighall Unction, as shown on the damaged road sign above the train, this being the point where the A6095 leaves the A1 for Usselburgh...

Crystal Palace: Exterior of the surviving Low Level station at Crystal Palace, on 9th February 2013. This station opened in 1854 and was totally separate to the grander High Level station of the LBSCR which opened in 1865 as the terminus of the branch from Nunhead. It closed in 1954 and had it been preserved would have served well as a museum but it was sadly demolished in 1961 and a housing estate now covers the site.

Scorton [Lancashire] [1st]: A light engine movement from Carlisle to Toton was probably an enjoyable day out for this Colas driver and I got a friendly 'toot' as 70816 passed the footbridge at Broadfall Farm near Scorton on 16th January 2021. The green palisade fencing on this side of the line is a recent installation. See image [[69544]] from 2019. Photograph ancillary to a daily exercise walk permitted under Corona Virus legislation.
