Lancaster: 142016 and 153363 cross the 'Carlisle Bridge' over the River Lune as they approach Lancaster with a terminating service on 27 September 2016. The units are about to cross the facing crossover and two further sets of facing points to access Platform 2, a north facing bay.
Greskine Signal Box: An EWS class 66 climbing Beattock with a PW train in October 2006, photographed near Greskine.
Tebay: South of Tebay a track maintenance machine comes north by the River Lune and M6. It's a curious livery with something a bit Irn Bru about it.
Pilton Junction West: This picture serves as a 'now' to Bill Roberton's 'then' of 1980 (see image [[75406]]). The Granton Gasworks station building, hardly changed, serves as a point of reference even if today it has the awning of a Morrison's petrol station in front of it. Apart from that, the immediate area remains undeveloped.
Boat of Garten: Looking north at Boat of Garten Station in 1971 before the start of restoration work by the Strathspey Railway. John McIntyre has submitted a number of pictures taken here during the early preservation days.
North Weald: Where London Underground Central Line tube trains once ran, between 1957 and 1994, D 6729 at the head of an Epping Ongar Railway train to Ongar, is now waiting to depart from North Weald station on 1st July 2012.
Thornton Junction: In a chilly October rainstorm, there was no inclination to leave the shelter of the station buildings on the island platform at Thornton Junction. But a WD 2-8-0 90168 could just about be photographed making its way along the avoiding line with a coal train. An unidentified J37 approaches from the opposite direction with a mixed goods coming from the Fife Coast route. 1st October 1965.
Lancaster: Northern Sprinter and Pacer in Bays 1 & 2 at Lancaster, in between Barrow and Morecambe services on 8th July 2018. The substantial hydraulic buffers dominate the foreground. After withdrawal 142035 made its way to the Wensleydale Railway rather than the scrapyard but is reported to be a spare parts donor rather than preserved.
Leeming Bar: Ex Southern Region BRCW Type 3 33035 is no longer based on the Wensleydale Railway having moved to the East Lancashire Railway. This is one of the three main line diesels that have left the Wensleydale Railway in more recent years. 33035 is seen in the yard by Leeming Bar station in April 2019.
