Knockando: A view west from the end of the platform at Knockando in April 1977 with part of the trackbed being used as an access road by the distillery. The two concrete posts on the right used to support the running in board.
Rockingham [South Yorkshire]: The short Elsecar Heritage Railway has an impressive amount of stock (see also image [[51409]]). Rockingham station is also known as Elsecar and Wentworth.
Gordon: The former station at Gordon on the Berwickshire Railway, looking north east towards Greenlaw in March 2016. The station here closed to passengers in 1948, although the last operational section of the line, between Ravenswood Junction and Greenlaw, survived until 1965. The station has been much modified since closure, while the old goods yard in the background now hosts a private civil works operation. During the railway era the yard contained stone crushing and loading facilities serving a local quarry - see image [[59939]].
Parklee Signal Box: Scene west of Parklee level crossing, half a mile to the east of Woodhall station, on 23 June 1964. The Parklee playing fields (now gone) are on the left. The approaching train is the 6.20pm Glasgow Central - Wemyss Bay, hauled on this occasion by Clayton Type 1 no D8527, which had arrived new at Polmadie shed the previous year.
Kings Cross St Pancras [CSLR]: A nicely populated shot of 1959/1962 tube stock on the Northern Line in 1994, when it was already showing its age. It was to last until 2000. The two Salvation Army gentlemen do not appear to be on speaking terms (or this may just be tube etiquette).
Leuchars: Leuchars box looking south to the station in 1996.
Lamberton [Border Crossing]: A train bound for the Fort Willam smelter, if my memory serves me correct, on 9th June 2018. And Yes, I did remember to close the gate, although I approached from the English side having walked up from Berwick upon Tweed station.
Zeebrugge: North Sea Ferries vessel 'Norstar' waiting to leave Zeebrugge for Hull in July 1989. Built in 1974 it transferred to this route in 1987 and remained in service until 2002. The Hull - Zeebrugge route saw its last sailing in December 2020.
Exeter Central: Looking east over the long platform at Exeter Central, a Paignton to Exmouth service is seen calling on on 29th July 2015. The two car Pacer seems lost in this station and the area of the long lifted through lines emphasises the space between the two platforms. 143611 was withdrawn from service in November 2020, slightly ahead of the last GWR Pacers which succumbed the following month.
Bethnal Green: 315838 to Liverpool Street departing from its penultimate stop at Bethnal Green on 30th April 2013. The platforms on the main line (on right) were closed in 1946 and are now demolished along with the original Victorian buildings on the surviving platforms. This station is tucked away around back streets and completely separate to the LUL Central Line station that is in the centre of this inner London suburb.
