Kents Bank: Glimpsed from the elevated lineside footpath, 195107 accelerates away from the stop at Kents Bank heading for Grange-over-Sands with a Manchester Airport service on 24th October 2020.

Nuneaton: 66105 blots out the sunlight from platform 5 at Nuneaton as it proceeds from Ashburys to Mountsorrel sidings with empty stone wagons. Notice the rusty track on the right, I have never known this line to be used since platforms 6 and 7 were built. This photograph was my consolation prize for being too far away from 'Bahamas' - see image [[74461]].

Cameron Toll Signal Box: Diversions around the Edinburgh Sub during the 2019 Christmas period see a westbound Voyager crossing the bridge at Cameron Toll on a wet 28 December. The 3-day temporary arrangement was the result of track replacement work being carried out at Haymarket East Junction.

Ripon: The solum of the former Leeds to Northallerton line, heading south from Ripon, is substantially extant over much of the section between the now demolished Ure Viaduct, just after the station, through to the Harrogate to Ripon section of the A61 trunk road, just north of Wormald Green. Just south of Littlethorpe village there are a number of accommodation bridges, then two substantial rail over road bridges. The most southerly of the rail over road bridges is that over the Ripon to Bishop Monkton Road, a short distance south of Pottery Lane. This is Dft bridge LEN 1/66. The view is looking north towards Ripon.

Leuchars Junction [1st]: This map accompanies Ordnance Gazetteer of Scotland (1885, my collection). While otherwise up to date, it shows Leuchars Junction station as it was till 1876. Even in 1885 that station was known as Leuchars Old, and the name Leuchars Junction taken by a new station in the more obvious place (the current Leuchars).

Upminster: Exterior of Upminster station, Essex, in pouring rain on 6th October 2020. As well as C2C trains from Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness via Basildon and Southend Central via Ockendon, it is the eastern terminus of the District Line with the LU depot and sidings just to the east. It is also the terminus of the short single-track branch to Romford which, curiously, became an isolated part of the London Overground network on 31st May 2015.

Nuneaton: Its not often you see freight in both platforms 1 and 2 in Nuneaton, but see image [[35693]]. The preceding train to Hams Hall, hauled by 66711 'Sence', was 23 down; so 66785 from London Gateway GBRf was doing well to be only 3 minutes late. By turning left North of the station, it blocked the path of 70008; which had just curved in from the Coventry line with a Southampton MCT to Trafford Park working, arriving 2 minutes early to change drivers. Notice the cladding on the footbridge, which is being re-roofed.
