Cove: As a tail lamp heads south, a Class 47 comes north with an express for Aberdeen, half a mile north of Cove on 19th April 1977.
Kirkgunzeon: The former station at Kirkgunzeon (1859 - 1950) on the old Port Road, 10 miles west of Dumfries. Photograph taken in September 2009 looking south, with the A711 Dumfries - Dalbeattie road crossing the picture immediately beyond the building.
Morpeth [B and T]: Morpeth, Blyth and Tyne, when in use as a permanent way depot. This location is now a car park for the nearby North Eastern station.
Linlithgow: A Dunblane service passes Linlithgow at speed on 23 September 2020. The poster behind caught my attention because it spells trolleys 'trollies'. I thought this had to be a mistake but apparently it is an accepted alternative spelling. OK, but why? Welcome to my world.
Malton: TransPennine Express liveried DRS 68021 is seen at Malton Station early evening on 16 October 2020, at the rear of the 16.54 ex Liverpool Lime Street Nova 3 coaching set working to Scarborough. The red glow on the side is from the platform west end colour starter signal just to its rear. 68021 was one of the loco's sent to the Velim test track in the Czech Republic to ensure compatibility with the rake of CAF built coaches. 68019 was the other.
Seven Kings: One of the new TfL Rail purple versions of the famous LT roundel at Seven Kings station, seen from a Shenfield to Liverpool Street train on 6th October 2020. In the background are the obsolete platforms on the fast tracks on this quadrupled section, now fenced off from the local platforms.
Lowdham: Lowdham signal box, just west of the station level crossing, seen in 2003.
Caledonia Works: An EE Type 1, at Barclay's for components removal in 1989, parked in a siding with a diminutive shunter.
Grafton East Junction: A view from the Kennet and Avon towpath at the point where the long abandoned curve, linking the Berks and Hants and the MSWJR, crossed the canal. The substantial bridge abutment is prominent in this March 2020 view.
Motherwell: Britannia 70010 'Owen Glendower,' impatient to get away from the Motherwell stop with the 9.25am Crewe to Perth on 3rd July 1965. The train was some 15 minutes down, but time was being regained through some very brisk running. Unfortunately, having had to alight at Motherwell, I was not able to see if the fast progress continued!
Brock: A Class 221 five car Virgin Voyager heads south in the evening sunshine at Brock on 8 August 2011. The view is south-east, with the River Brock just out of sight at the bottom of the photo, the M6 motorway to the left and A6 road to the right.
