Belsize Park: LUL 1995 stock on Northern Line service from Morden to Edgware via Bank at Belsize Park on 16th September 2020. This station was opened with the Charing Cross, Euston & Hampstead Railway on 22nd June 1907 which, after being renamed the Morden/Edgware Line in 1926, finally became the Northern Line in 1937. The lack of passengers shows how few people are travelling during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Kirkland Yard: Looking towards Methil Docks, from underneath the Iron Brig at Kirkland, on 26th September 2020. This is one of the few places on the branch where the track is still visible.

Buchanan Street: A4 60019 'Bittern' sets off from Glasgow Buchanan St with the 8.25am 'Grampian' for Aberdeen on 18th May 1966. The rapid progress Glasgow made towards smokeless zone status in the 1960s experienced a bit of a setback on this sunny May morning.

Sharpness Docks: Rails still embedded in the road at Sharpness Docks in August 2020. This road leads to a small village and the western side of the docks.

Pitlochry: This platform screen at Pitlochry caught my Lancastrian eye - first stop Preston! Not strictly true of course as there are several pick up only stations, a loco change and the combining of portions between the two points but still noteworthy.

Steeton and Silsden: Northern EMU 333001 calls at Steeton and Silsden on 26 September 2020 with a service from Skipton to Bradford Forster Square. The station opened here in 1847 as Steeton but it wasn't until 1868 that Silsden was added. It closed in 1965 but reopened in 1990.

Gretna Green [1st]: View west from Glasgow Road overbridge, Gretna, on 30 May 2007. On the right is what was the original Gretna Green station, opened by the Glasgow, Dumfries & Carlisle Railway in 1848 (as plain Gretna until 1852) and closed in December 1965. In the background, at the start of the single line section to Annan, is the BR station opened in 1993. (Note the line has since been redoubled and the station given a second platform - see image [[20209]].)

Royal Oak South Junction: View from a train shortly after rejoining the Yorkshire Coast line at Royal Oak South Junction after coming off the branch from Filey Holiday Camp. The train is the 1132 (SO) Scarborough - Hull and the date is thought to be 27 August 1977, the Saturday prior to closure of the branch. The signals protect the southern approach to the junction, with Royal Oak South signal box just off picture to the right.
