Polmont Junction: A ScotRail 158 about to complete the climb up from Falkirk Grahamston to join the E&G at Polmont junction on 7 August 2007. The train is a Dunblane - Edinburgh Waverley service.
Shettleston: Gresley V1 2-6-2T no 67627 calls at Shettleston on 22 July 1949 with a train for Hamilton.
Cameron Bridge [1st]: The now removed fine footbridge, which once served the island platform at Cameron Bridge, seen in 1989. Why a 3/4 sign? Cameron Bridge is 3.58 miles from Thornton.
Thornliebank: An East Kilbride to Glasgow pulls into leafy Thornliebank station on 19 September 2020.
Caledonia Works: The main erecting shop of the Caledonia Works in 1982. Two diesel shunters under overhaul and in the middle distance a coke car shunter is being overhauled.
Troon: Virtually empty car park at Troon station on 15th October 2020. Mid-afternoon on a normal Thursday you would be lucky to find a space.
Ayr: 76101 awaits departure from Ayr in July 1966 with the 17.15 to Kilmarnock. As can be seen from the name still painted on the buffer beam, the locomotive had been a Dawsholm resident until the depot closed.
Oxford: A view of the cab and controls of GWR DMU 165125, in the platform at Oxford on 7th October 2020.
Crooklands Wharf: Crooklands Wharf, alongside the now disused section of the Lancaster Canal, still has a section occupied by the local coal merchant. Two sidings from the Gatebeck Tramway allowed coal and other supplies to be transhipped and taken from here to Gatebeck Powder Works along the valley of the Peasey Beck.
Chadwell Heath: 315839, with a stopping service from Shenfield to Liverpool Street, arriving at Chadwell Heath on 24th October 2009. This service should have been running all the way to Reading via the Crossrail tunnels under central London from December 2018 but, as we all know, this didn't open on time and promises to open in the autumn of 2019 were also not met. The latest proposed opening date was then within a window of autumn 2020 and spring 2021 but now it looks like it might be 2022 before it opens, this time the coronavirus pandemic providing a good excuse for yet more delays.
