Tralee Casement: Exterior of Tralee station, County Kerry, with quite rightly the Irish spelling, on 16th June 2017. This station, dating from 1859, is now the terminus of the broad gauge line from Mallow; until 1963, trains continued on a lengthy loop via Listowel, Abbeyfeale and Adare back to the main Cork to Dublin line at Limerick Junction. In recent times, there was talk of reopening the Limerick Junction to Adare section but so far nothing has come of this.

Boulogne Maritime: Mais oui, c'est un pont secteur... An example of a pivoting turnplate which allows locos to switch to one of several tracks amongst the station headshunts. This arrangement is like a partial turntable but with an incomplete circle. The black box was for the operator and moved along with the track. Clearly there was not a lot of space to build beyond the end of the platforms here without building out over the harbour wall. The blue pillars and lintels demarcate the boundary between the railway area and the ferry quay (orange containers). A shot showing a loco turning is available here: http://reseau3gg.centerblog.net/3696-un-pont-secteur-avec-une-bb-67400

Blaenavon High Level: 0-6-0ST no. 71515 at the Southern end of working on the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway, near to the junction for the Varteg Hill branch (see image [[48608]]). The latter line is the only disused railway where I have asked the landowner's permission for access; the laconic reply being Why not? Everyone else walks up it
