Weymouth

Ex-Southern Railway Bulleid 'Merchant Navy' Pacific 35018 'British India Line' waiting to depart from Weymouth with the 17.24 return leg of the Railway Touring Company's 'The End of Southern Steam' railtour, on Sunday, 9th July 2023. This is one of a batch of 20 that entered service from Eastleigh shed in May 1945 and withdrawn from service in August 1964. It then spent 15 years at Woodham's scrapyard at Barry until purchased for preservation in November 1979 and found its way to the Mid-Hants Railway in March 1980. Restoration was protracted and it was 30th September 2017 before it ran its first main line tour from Carnforth to York.
