Nantes
The real thing - at the head of a seventeen-coach express from Paris, an SNCF 241P 4-8-2 rolls into Nantes in the summer of 1969. A relief had arrived earlier behind a diesel, giving rise to more than a little concern on my part, as I had been hoping to see one of the 4-8-2s on express duty during their final summer of service. But all was well when 241P11 arrived spot on time with the main train.
