Parkside [1st]

323236 at Parkside with a Manchester Airport to Lime Street service on 8th February 2020. The train is actually passing through the site of the first Parkside station, which was only open from 1830 to 1839 when a replacement opened just beyond the junction to the rear of the train. Parkside [1st] was of course the spot where William Huskisson was fatally injured by 'Rocket' on the opening day of the L&M and his memorial can be seen in the right foreground. It has been pretty inaccessible for the 170 plus years since the station closed.
