Parkside [1st]

Grab shot of the rather inaccessible Huskisson Memorial, a Grade II listed structure, seen from a passing Liverpool to Manchester EMU on 14th March 2016. This is the site of Parkside's first station, only open from 1830 to 1839, but where Huskisson was fatally injured while his opening day train was taking on water. The memorial plaque inside the structure is even less visible but a replica is displayed at nearby Newton-le-Willows station. See image 53228
