Milnthorpe

The inaugural public run of restored 60103 Flying Scotsman on 6th Feburary 2016 started in appalling weather but, despite this, vantage points were full of spectators. Soon after departure from Carnforth the A3 is seen approaching the over bridge at Elmsfield near Milnthorpe. The smoke deflectors are clearly needed for main line running - what would the view ahead at this point have been without them?
