Ribble Steam Railway Workshops

Shunter 08628 was bought by the Ribble Steam Railway with a view to restoration followed by deployment on the Bitumen Tanker trains and passenger services. However, it became clear that repairs would be a long and very expensive process and, as other similar locos in working order were scheduled to arrive, it was stripped for spares and breaking. The former D3795, withdrawn from Bescot in 1999, is seen here inside the RSR running shed for component recovery in July 2012. See image 52838
