Richmond [Yorkshire]

Part of the roof of Richmond station in North Yorkshire in 1977. The station closed completely in 1969 although it was subsequently used as a garden centre for several years before that venture was abandoned in 2001. There were later suggestions of demolition before it eventually became the focus of a community based project and was refurbished and reopened in 2007. The building now houses a cafe/restaurant, cinema, heritage Centre and art gallery, as well as hosting a number of other activities.
