Merrygill Viaduct

Merrygill viaduct lies one mile east of Kirkby Stephen East on the climb to Stainmore. Trains continued to serve the quarry here until 1975, using the Warcop line from Appleby, and a one mile section of the trackbed, including two viaducts. This section survives as a public walkway.
