Stubbins

The widening trackbed indicates this was Stubbins Junction where the Accrington line diverged from that to Rawtenstall and Bacup, although the station platforms only served Bacup line trains. Stubbins' platforms have not seen a passenger for almost forty years now but are still extant as seen here looking north from the rear of a passing ELR DMU service. See image 19681 for the same location thirty years earlier.
