Blackburn
Last duties for a Stanier 5MT 4-6-0 in 1968 as it heads east with a rake of 16T coal empties at Bolton Junction, just outside Blackburn station. The large gantry of semaphores controlling the junction had only another four years of service too before Preston power box took control of the line. However, the goods yard on the right still sees rail borne traffic to this day and the small cabin under the gantry has also survived.
