Ribble Steam Railway Museum

A pioneer back in its birthplace. As Netherlands State Railways No.601 this shunter was the first of the Dutch Class 11 locos to be built by English Electric at the former Dick Kerr works in Preston in 1955. It was later converted to remote control radio operation (and renumbered 671) but at the end of its working life in Holland was repatriated to the UK in 2005. It is currently a non-operational exhibit at the Ribble Steam Railway and seen here in a line of locomotives that also includes the L&YR A Class 0-6-0 No.1300 (BR 52322).
