Town of Newry Connecting Railway

Introduction

This line ran from Kilmorey Street to Edward Street. It connected the Newry, Warrenpoint and Rostrevor Railway and Newry and Armagh Railway (formerly the Newry and Enniskillen Railway), the northern portion making use of a portion of the existing line between Newry Albert Basin and Newry Edward Street which was upgraded for passenger use.

Opened from beside Newry Kilmorey Street to Newry Dublin Bridge, immediately used by the Newry, Warrenpoint and Rostrevor Railway to replace Newry Kilmorey Street (which briefly reopened while the lines came to terms).
