Incorporated to connect the Newry, Warrenpoint and Rostrevor Railway (near Newry Kilmorey Street) to the Newry and Enniskillen Railway (at Newry Edward Street), at the latter using a short portion of upgraded Newry Albert Basin line.

Opened from beside Newry Kilmorey Street to Newry Dublin Bridge, immediately used by the Newry, Warrenpoint and Rostrevor Railway to replace Newry Kilmorey Street (which briefly reopened while the lines came to terms).

Extended the Newry, Warrenpoint and Rostrevor Railway from Warrenpoint [1st] to Rostrevor with a 3ft horse tramway alongside the road.
