Singer Deviation (North British Railway)

Introduction

This line was built to the north of the Singer Works and allowed for the expansion of the works (west side of Kilbowie Road) and the development of a large passenger station for the works (east side of Kilbowie Road).

Portions of line and locations

This line is divided into a number of portions.

Singer Deviation

East of Singer station the Singer Deviation left the former Glasgow, Dumbarton and Helensburgh Railway. This signal box controlled the point of deviation between the original and deviation lines. The original line layout was altered at the junction to provide carriage sidings. Kilbowie Road station became a terminus with the Singer Workers Platforms.
