Murtle: View east along the Deeside Way towards Aberdeen at Murtle on a beautiful autumn day in November 2012. Opened in 1853, Murtle station was reduced to a Halt in 1930, before closing in April 1937. The old timber station building has had limited alteration. The granite Station Master's ('Agent' in GNoSR terms) house is in good repair and is sited just north of the station.
Aberdeen: The GNSR memorial at Aberdeen station to men of the Company's service killed in the Great War. By the end of that war the total number of staff serving their country was 609, or 22% of the workforce. Of these 93 were to die and are recorded on the oak memorial in raised gilt letters. A wreath was placed here by the Great North of Scotland Railway Association on 11 November 2012.

National Railway Museum York: Former Post Office Underground Railway unit 809, on display at the National Railway Museum, York, in November 2014. The 2ft gauge system, built to move mail between sorting offices across London, operated between 1927 and 2003. The six and a half mile route between Paddington and Whitechapel originally served 8 stations, including the 23 acre Mount Pleasant Mail Centre on Farringdon Road.

Edinburgh Gateway: Work in progress on the new Edinburgh Gateway station on 11 November 2015. Off to the left, at a lower level, work is also progressing on the neighbouring tram stop. This new interchange is scheduled to open by the end of 2016 and will provide a train/tram link with Edinburgh Airport, the control tower of which stands in the left background. The approaching train is the 1323 Cowdenbeath - Edinburgh Waverley.
Haymarket West Junction: A new public housing development near the junction has this facsimile of an old OS map on each building. Note the engine shed (Haymarket). Murrayfield tram stop is opposite where the corn mill was, and the stadium is on the site of a polo field!
Edinburgh Gateway [Tram]: Work well underway on Edinburgh Gateway interchange on 11 November 2015, with an Airport bound tram passing through on the lower level and a 158 for Waverley about to run through the partially constructed station in the left background. Off picture to the right work is also underway on the pedestrian subway under the A8 which will give direct access to the Gyle shopping centre.

Glasgow Queen Street High Level: As the 1507 Inverness train waits to depart on the 11th November 2016 we trust that someone will remember to fit the insulators beween the contact and catenary wires and the anchor posts before the shiny new installation at Queen Street goes live.
Broxbourne: 317633 departs Broxbourne for Hertford East in November 2016. A bit different to the 305 units that I was used to in my days from the late 1970s when I used the train service from here. The 317 units are now history too.
Clarkston: Take the last train to Clarkston and I'll tweet you at the station. An East Kilbride to Glasgow train calls on 11 November 2017. The train will, as always, be packed and of course there's always someone trying to get on with a bike.

Giffnock: An East Kilbride train calls at Giffnock on 11 November 2017. The fine footbridge would be a casualty of electrification, but it would be a price worth paying, I think.
Bargeddie Bridge: Perhaps we should we now be calling this the 'Cutie Sark' Bridge – the landmark bridge over the A8 at Bargeddie has had a refurbishment, and after its makeover is now painted to match its companion, the 2015 viaduct over the M8.
Mount Florida: Rhubarb, rhubarb. Comings and goings at Mount Florida on 11 November 2017. A Circle service on the left takes the Cathcart line, as indicated by the toy signal. An incoming service draws in on the right.
Thornliebank: 156 439 calls at Thornliebank with an East Kilbride service on the cold morning of 11 November 2017.
Millerhill Marshalling Yard [North]: The access road into Millerhill depot looking south on 11 November 2018. Midway between Whitehill Road and the yard admin block is the recently constructed entrance to the compound which now occupies the north east corner of the yard, with various plant and equipment stored for the weekend beyond the gate. Millerhill Engineers Depot: While the NE corner of Millerhill remains unoccupied, save for one long siding, the area has now been levelled, compound fencing added, roadways built and a gated entrance formed off the depot entry road. This Sunday morning view on 11 November 2018 shows the current situation. In the left distance are the EMU stabling roads, with the PW/ballast sidings further left out of shot. In the middle distance, on the west side of the old yard, are the RERC and Biogen recycling plants, with the yard's original admin block nearest the camera on the east side. On the extreme right, just inside the compound entrance, plant and eqipment stands alongside signs of recent construction activity. See image [[66401]].

Glenfinnan Viaduct: The iconic Glenfinnan viaduct lit up red tonight (Wednesday, November 11) as a tribute to all those who have lost their lives in defence of the country. The 21-arch Victorian viaduct, which is famous across the world for its starring role in the Harry Potter film series, turned red between 19:00 and 21:00 as the nation marks the 102nd anniversary of Armistice Day. Lighting up Glenfinnan viaduct also pays tribute to the role the West Highland Line played in WWII – transporting thousands of service personnel from Britain, and nations across occupied Europe, to commando training centres located in the north west of Scotland. While the coronavirus pandemic caused the cancellation of traditional remembrance services at Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley, Scotland’s two busiest stations observed the two minutes silence at 11:00 this morning.

Scorton [Lancashire] [2nd]: The flow of spent ballast from Carlisle to Pinnox Sidings near Longport, Stoke has been operating daily in November with the empties returning north overnight. Colas 56113 passes over Station Lane at Scorton, late on the afternoon of 11th November 2021, with thirteen loaded box wagons in tow.
