Wellesley Colliery Victoria Pit

Description

This pit was sunk on the shore above high water, just to the west of West Wemyss Dock with which it was connected by a tramway, partly on a timber tressle viaduct.

Formerly No 7 Pit, renamed Victoria in 1837 for the coronation of Queen Victoria.
