Stepends Signal BoxOpened on the New Monkland Line (Monkland Railways).
Description
This signal box was for Stepends Junction (to the west) and Plains Junction (to the east). The box was on the north side of the line at Barblues.
The box closed in 1905, but remained in place. A disused siding at Stepends Junction was retained.
The box re-opened in 1910 and the Stepends Junction siding was brought back into use.
The box remained in use until 1961.
