Station

Name and dates

Sorbie (1875-1950)

Opened on the Wigtownshire Railway.

Description

This was a single platform station. The platform was on the west side.

To the south of the station was a goods loop. The goods yard sidings, on the west side, ran north from the north end of the loop.

For the opening of the station a roadway was realigned to the west to cross the line by a bridge. Since closure of the line (in 1964) the road has been realigned to its original route.

Sorbie Creamery was located on the north side of the line alongside the station.
