Kirkbank Crossing (1856-1966)

Opened on the Jedburgh Railway.

Description

This was a level crossing just to the west of Ormiston House. There may have been a platform or halt for the house. The location is three quarters of a mile south of Kirkbank station.

An abandoned cottage remains here on the east side of the line, south of the former level crossing. The style is similar to the house style adopted at the stations on the line. It may have been a surfaceman's cottage.
