Hartwoodhill Junction (1862-1962)Opened on the Shotts Branch (Monkland Railways).
Description
This was the junction between the Westcraigs Junction to Shotts Loops line and the branches to Hartwoodhill Colliery Pit Nos 1 and 2 and Fortissat Colliery.
The original box was on the south side of the junction. The box was replaced in 1912 when a large yard was opened on the north side of the junction. The new box was on the south side of the line at the east end of the yard loops (four loops on the Hartwoodhill line). There was a loop on the main line.
The box closed in 1962, the line in 1963.
