Millerhill Yard Junction: A scan of an Instamatic Camera print from 1966 which is not quite 100% in focus. The main subject was not intended to be the rather smart BR lineside hut on the chord line to the ECML but 61099 with a loaded coal train about to pass a Brush Type 4 with a westbound car train which may have originated in Dagenham. In the background can be made out the spire of Inveresk church and various industrial chimneys in Musselburgh.

Birmingham New Street: A 3 x on the coupon on 15th May 2025. An unidentified Avanti West Coast Pendolino on the left, Cross Country Voyager 221122 idling in the middle line and on the right a West Midlands Railway Aventra emu 730019 about to leave with a service to Wolverhampton.

Ramsbottom: A1A Locomotives Ltd 31108 will be appearing at the ELR Diesel Gala 3rd - 6th July. Here it heads the 16:37 Rawtenstall to Bury at Ramsbottom on 8th June 2025. It ran on the diesel service topping and tailing with 56006.

Mormond Halt: Many sections of the Formartine and Buchan Way are well surfaced, including some that have tarmac. On the remote moorland section between Strichen and Lonmay it is a different story and after a rain shower there was a lot of pooling. Viewed from a surviving minor overbridge, an intrepid cyclist splashes down the hill, from Mormond station towards Strichen on 15th April 2025.

Severn Tunnel Junction: 56109 passing Severn Tunnel Junction in 1997 with 6M14, the afternoon Alexandra Dock Junction, Newport to Wembley 'Connectrail' service which conveyed wagon load traffic for export.

Strathyre: View south to Strathyre from a bridge over a small stream. The trackbed has been converted into a foot/cyclepath. It was a frosty day and the untreated surface was quite something!

Hoylake: 777023, Merseyrail Wirral Line to West Kirby, arriving at its penultimate stop at Hoylake at 17.17 on Monday, 28th April 2025.
