Carstairs: Avanti 390126 passes under the fenced-off old footbridge at Carstairs on 28th August 2024. The replacement bridge is beyond.
Arnos Grove: The splendid Arnos Grove station, LU Piccadilly Line, is one of Dr. Charles Holden's most iconic designs, opened as a temporary terminus on 19th September 1932 with the first stage of the extension from Finsbury Park and looking nowhere near almost 100 years old, at 14.32 on Saturday, 31st August 2024. Seen from a bus on SL1, one of Sadiq Kahn's new Superloop routes, after I changed here from the replacement bus service from Cockfosters, the line as far as Wood Green having been temporarily closed for the past 16 days but expected to reopen on Monday, 2nd September.
Salwick: Most of the few passengers using Salwick commute in to the adjacent nuclear fuels plant on tickets bought elsewhere and the guard said this was the first he'd sold. This was the last station in Lancashire for me to travel to/from. The other sixty one were much easier and finished some time ago.
Leith Citadel Goods: The Metro Cammell DMU operating the October 1967 Railway Society of Scotland tour of the Edinburgh area is seen here during the call at Leith Citadel.
