Aviemore: Over two hours late, 66425 'Nigel J Kirchstein' arrives at Aviemore with the northbound Tesco container train. 170404 is the 1T86 service from Inverness to Glasgow Queen St on 14 February 2024.

Stonehaven: LNER 1W02 800110, on its way up from Leeds, crossing the bridge over the old coast road down into Stonehaven. I did wonder when that bridge was going to get refurbished, since the ones over the golf course Gulley & Mineralwell Park were painted a few years ago.

Mossley: Although Mossley station is to be rebuilt, with relocated platforms and level access, the stylish original station building will thankfully survive. The station enjoys an hourly service in each direction provided by TPE units shuttling between Huddersfield and Manchester Piccadilly.

Lochore Colliery Mary Pit: This concrete headframe is all that remains on the surface of Mary Pit. This was for the second shaft of the 1920s. The view looks east. Off to the right the the branch continued, running north east to Kirkness via the Rosewell Colliery. The Mary Pit closed in 1966. On the right in this view is the short length of track which formed a plinth for Andrew Barclay 2259 (see Bill Roberton's image [[78158]]).
