Llandudno Junction Shed: 40188 at Llandudno shed in September 1982. It had worked the Amlwch freight. Note behind towards Conwy, all the wagons in the sidings. Class 40s were the staple power down the North Wales Coast for many a year and popular with the enthusuiasts on the Summer Saturday services and the all year Bangor service that ran to Manchester in the week.

Benarty Signal Box: View south near Benarty signal box showing the main line running from centre bottom, curving gently to the right with the landscaped trackbed continuing off across fields into the distance. The curve of the Benarty Colliery branch is now a tree line curving off to the left and Kinnaird Colliery branch is the tree line curving off to the right. Loch Ore is top left.

Green Lane: On 25th October 1978, HM The Queen formally inaugrated 'Merseyrail' and rode from Liverpool out to Kirkby in EMU 507001. This was coupled to 507002 to convey the 'entourage'. In those days the two units were in the standard blue and grey livery but now, probably in its last full year of service, 507002 has colourful if shabby overall vinyls. On 1st November 2023 it departed Green Lane heading into Liverpool on a service from Chester, next stop Birkenhead Central less than half a mile away.

Green Lane: Probably my favourite Merseyrail station. The atmospheric and, with the Liverpool platform vegetation, appropriately named Green Lane as seen from the footbridge on 1st November 2023. The Rock Ferry platform, being under cover, is 'tree free'. Serving the nearby Cammel-Laird shipyards, Green Lane is quiet for much of the day.

Mill Hill Broadway: 700057, with a stopping Thameslink service to St. Albans City, departing from the down slow platform at Mill Hill Broadway, at 13.07 on a beautifully bright but bitterly cold Saturday, 25th November 2023. The fast lines are on the left and fenced off but the platforms can be used if the slow lines are out of action for any reason.
