Edinburgh Waverley: The colourful stalls of Edinburgh's Christmas Market seem to have taken over much of the East Gardens and the area around the National Gallery in this 14 December 2007 view over the west end of Waverley. The train is a mid morning arrival from Manchester Airport, a service launched by First TransPennine Express earlier that month.

Kelty Yard: The North British had a yard north of Kelty station, where a large number of lines met. British Railways converted this into a marshalling yard by looping the sidings and adding further sidings. Today it is difficult to believe this was the site of the yard, with sixteen sidings in addition to the main running lines. The view looks north from the southern end of the former yard.
