Newmachar: The rain was coming down sideways at Newmachar so just a quick snap rather than an exploration of the remains. This is the view towards Dyce in October 2023 and, as at nearby Udny, this substantial platform is still in place. The other is there but incorporated into gardens.
Hackney Wick: 66528 on 4I36 Wentloog to Felixstowe service passing Hackney Wick on 20th November 2023. Despite this being in London there are some nice autumn colours .
Kettering: 4F 0-6-0 44575 stands at Kettering station circa 1962. This locomotive was withdrawn from Wellingborough shed in November 1964.
Bridgnorth: Job well done - 37263 looks pleased with itself after banking a train headed by a Peak diesel out of Bridgnorth, on its way to Kidderminster, during the SVR Autumn Steam Gala 2023.
Didcot Parkway: DBC 66078 sitting lonely in Didcot's station sidings in November 2023.
Forest Gate: 755508, Greater Anglia service to Liverpool Street, heading away from the camera as it speeds past Forest Gate in east London, at 10.58 on Tuesday, 14th November 2023. What are now the Elizabeth Line platforms are out of view on the left.
Kelty South Junction: View north to Kelty South Junction in 2023. The main line from Cowdenbeath came in at the bottom, ran through the trees, over the Lochfitty Burn, under a minor road bridge and to Kelty station by the distant substation. The old route ran from the right to meet the main line around the centre of the view, with the junction just north of the now infilled bridge over the line. Loch Ore is top right.
Kaikoura: Many redundant station buildings have been made available for alternative uses in the UK but unsurprisingly none as a base for whale watching excursions as seen here at Kaikoura on the east coast of New Zealand's South Island.
Leith Walk: Looking towards the former Leith Walk Station, past Shrubhill Tram Works on the left, in 1990. There were sidings on the left serving the works. In the foreground is the turnout for Powderhall run round loop
Aberdeen: A dull November day sees 158702 passing Torry, on the southern outskirts of Aberdeen, with 2B22, the 09.56 Inverurie to Montrose.
Aberfeldy: Sulzer Type 2 D5130 after arrival at Aberfeldy with the branch service from Ballinluig. The photograph is thought to date from early 1965.
