Gateshead MPD: 12 Oct 1963 and A1 No 60132 'Marmion has found a quiet area of Gateshead shed to let off steam. The depot was in the middle of a transition from steam to diesel, and locos could be seen dotted all over the shed.
Bebington: 777002 calls at Bebington, heading for Ellesmere Port, on 4th October 2023. This station serves the north end of Port Sunlight model village and it is a very pleasant walk through the village, with its 900 Grade II listed buildings, from here to Port Sunlight station.
Coillechat Burn Bridge: View west near Coillechat Burn. Some the trackbed here is very flooded and going east somewhat overgrown.
Normanton: The nameplate of former Southern Railway V Schools Class 4-4-0 30925 'Cheltenham' seen when it was standing at Normanton station on 13 May 1962, whilst working with 40646 on the RCTS 'The East Midlander' special. See image [[77022]]
Eastleigh: Class 37s can still be seen the length and breadth of the country. 37612, stabled in Eastleigh station sidings on 25th October 2023 at the head of a Network Rail track train.
Seamer: A Northern DMU photographed leaving Seamer on the Yorkhire Coast Line in October 2009. The train, which originated from Sheffield, is on the last leg of its journey to Scarborough. It is about to pass over what was once Station Road level crossing, closed following the rerouting of the B1261. The building standing alongside the platform is the former station house and booking office, now a private property.
Penrhyn: Ffestiniog Railway Bygones Gala. Double Fairlie David Lloyd George at Bake House Crossing with the 10:15 Porthmadog - Blaenau Ffestiniog on 8th October. Info from Festipedia - David Lloyd George was the fourth locomotive to be built by the Festiniog Railway Company in its own workshops at Boston Lodge and the sixth FR Double Fairlie. It carries its name (after the former Liberal Prime Minister who was brought up locally and travelled on the FR) in English on one side and in Welsh (Dafydd Lloyd George) on the other side. It is locomotive number 12.
Gateshead MPD: Doncaster's A3 No 60054 'Prince of Wales' was captured at Gateshead shed, complete with a GNR tender, on a sunny 12 October 1963.
Craigmill Siding: By the spring of 1983 the branch to Woodend (Armadale) had been lifted and this was the view from the A8 overbridge looking towards the site of Woodend Colliery The colliery itself closed in 1965 but the washery was retained until 1979 when it too bit the dust and the branch closed. Woodend Junction was situated between Armadale and Blackridge on the north side of the line. The Branch Line Society closed railways guide shows the branch as closing in 05/1973 due to rail traffic cessation and an online source shows it reopening in 03/1977.
Quinloch Level Crossing: A walking group tackle the Blane Valley Railway footpath between Blanefield and Dumgoyne in 1991. Behind is the conical Dungoyach.
Lostwithiel: 66190, working 6G09 1232 Goonbarrow Junction to Fowey clay, departs from Lostwithiel by the park and River Fowey on 12th September 2023.
