Opened as Churchbury in 1891, closed 1909, reopened 1915 to 1919, and then finally reopened permanently as Southbury in 1960. It weathered its many years of closure remarkably well and needed little work done for the 1960 reopening of the line. The Southbury Loop, as the line is now known, has been part of the London Overground since 31st May 2015.

They only weigh five tons less than their predecessors but have roughly three times the power available.
Alexandra Dry Dock [Leith]: Former Lighthouse Board tender 'Fingal' is now owned by The Royal Yacht Trust and has been refitted into a 23-cabin luxury floating hotel. It is moored in Leith, alongside the old dockside railway lines seen here in November 2022.
Balquhidder [2nd]: Two rail cranes, accompanied by a Caley 0-6-0, installing a replacement bridge over the old course of the A84 at Balquhidder. Health and safety standards for the workforce look a little different from the present day. One has to hope they at least closed the road. The site of the original station was immediately to the right here and the railway cottages seen beyond the bridge still stand.
Blea Moor Tunnel: This view looks south from above Blea Moor Tunnel showing one of the tunnel vents in the near distance and the line emerging beyond. A southbound coal train, waiting for a northbound passenger train to clear the single track over Ribblehead Viaduct, can be seen in the distance. A large spoil tip is downhill of the vent.
