Earlestown: Vintage Trains 47773 hauls the ECS from Golborne Jct back to Liverpool Lime Street with 7029 'Clun Castle' on the rear at this stage. This was part of a move to turn the stock and steam loco for the return journey of 'The Mersey Explorer' on 10 September 2022.

Bolton-le-Sands: Occasionally, on a Sunday, Caledonian Sleeper has a couple of reciprocal ECS workings moving stock between Polmadie and Wembley during the daytime. This was the case on 18th September 2022 and 92033 'Railway Heritage Trust' is seen heading south at Bolton-le-Sands with several MkVs. This view across the village roof tops from the Lancaster Canal towpath, with Morecambe Bay in the background. 92043 handled the northbound train.

Port Edgar: Remains of imbedded track still surviving in the boatyard at Port Edgar on 4 March 2015, at the point where the line once swung north to gain access to the old railway pier (see image [[75083]]). In the background work is in progress on the new Queensferry Crossing, which was officially opened to traffic on 30 August 2017.

Musselburgh: The remnants of a North Sea haar appear to be hanging over the southern approaches to Edinburgh on 14 April 2009 as a northbound HST runs through Musselburgh on its way to its next scheduled stop at Waverley. The train is the National Express East Coast 0845 Leeds - Aberdeen service.

Penrhyn: UK Railtours' chartered train from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Caernarfon via both the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways, passing Penrhyn station, on 6th April 2019.

Dublin Newcomen Bridge Lock: The First Lock, Royal Canal, Dublin in 1993, looking west. Derelict at that time but since refurbished and reopened. The lock was named for Sir William Gleadowe Newcomen, secretary of the canal company. Newcomen Junction on the Midland Great Western Railway is out of shot to the right.

Stubbins: View from East Lancashire Railway train approaching the disused Stubbins station, on 5th April 2016. Alder Bottom viaduct, crossing the River Irwell, is on the abandoned main line that diverged at Stubbins to Accrington via Helmshore but closed in 1966.

Stubbins: Just over fifty years after the last train called at Stubbins, this is the view from an ELR DMU approaching the site heading towards Ramsbottom and Bury in September 2022. The substantial platforms are still in place but the buildings were demolished before the line and station actually closed ([[21295]]).

Preston: Looking south from platform 3 at Preston as 319384 heads ecs to Warrington Bank Quay on 3 September 2022. On the right is 57010 with 57012 out of sight behind waiting to couple up to the Pathfinder railtour in platform 4 which was returning to Bristol.
