Slateford: Finally, for interest, here is a ticket dated January 1934, for a trip from Slateford to Juniper Green. Surprisingly, despite the passage of a full eleven years after the Grouping, the LMS was still using up Caledonian Railway ticket stock.

Colinton Tunnel: This photograph was taken in 1980s, when walking the old Balerno branch was not as popular an activity as now and you hardly met a soul. Now, of course, the Colinton tunnel has changed all that! This is the east portal of the tunnel in 1985.
