Slateford: Finally, for interest, here is a ticket dated January 1934, for a trip from Slateford to Juniper Green. Surprisingly, despite the passage of a full eleven years after the Grouping, the LMS was still using up Caledonian Railway ticket stock.
Balerno Junction: A post card view of the signal-box at Balerno Junction taken from across the Union Canal, with a very quiet road alongside. The view looks west. The Balerno branch crossed over the canal in the distance.
Hailes Halt: The former trackbed in Colinton Dell seen in 1985 in a view looking north in the direction of Hailes Halt. Note the large retaining wall.
Colinton Tunnel: This photograph was taken in 1980s, when walking the old Balerno branch was not as popular an activity as now and you hardly met a soul. Now, of course, the Colinton tunnel has changed all that! This is the east portal of the tunnel in 1985.
Colinton: Colinton station buildings seen in the early 1960s.
Colinton: Colinton seen in the 1960s from the road overbridge showing the goods yard and interesting shed. The view looks east to the tunnel.
Colinton: Colinton station seen from the bridge in a view looking east towards the tunnel in the 1960s. At the time the line was still open to goods only traffic.
Colinton: Colinton road bridge dominates the view in this photograph looking east towards the passenger station (note the cut back platform) with the goods yard off to the left. The building at a lower level on the right still stands and is located in Spylaw Park.
Inglis Mill: The bridge carrying the approach road to Inglis Mill seen in a view looking east.
