New Mills Central: Northern Sprinter 150111 has just re-entered platform 2 at New Mills Central from the turnback siding at the west end of the station. The unit had earlier arrived on a terminating service from Manchester Piccadilly and was about to form the 1134 return service. Four hours later I caught the same unit back to Manchester!

Birmingham Curzon Street: The vast site in the centre of Birmingham at Curzon Street, being prepared for the now truncated HS2, seen from a Railway Touring Company steam excursion from Paddington to Shrewsbury, behind Stanier Black 5 no. 44871, approaching Birmingham New Street at 11.37 on Saturday, 11th December 2021. Unfortunately, the historic and iconic London & Birmingham Railway terminus building was swathed in scaffolding and plastic sheeting so not worth taking a photo.

Deanshanger: The Summer 2019 timetable for a midibus service between Deanshanger and Wolverton (and onto Milton Keynes) on the former route of the steam tramway. Trams ran on the Deanshanger extension of the Wolverton to Stony Stratford Tramway only in the years 1888-1890. Local buses still use the road built over part of the old tramway formation between Deanshanger and Old Stratford. More details about the history of this tramway can be seen here: https://quavid.wordpress.com/about/the-wolverton-stony-stratford-tramway/

Haverthwaite: Andrew Barclay 0-6-0T No.10 (Works No.1245 of 1911) at Haverthwaite in 2006, newly restored from scrapyard (Thos. Muir, Kirkcaldy) condition. Supplied to the Carron Iron Company, Falkirk, it ended its industrial career with the NCB at Wellesley Washer Methil Docks.

Germiston Junction Low: On the decidedly murky Hogmanay of 1963, WD 2-8-0 90489 was photographed proceeding along the short stretch between Germiston Low and Balornock junctions with a breakdown train.

Taunton: This seating and waiting area at Taunton is new to me. The interior looks warm and cosy; but the wet wooden seats outside look a bit third class.

Bolton: Although Northern have had a few problems with their Class 769 EDMUs, 769456 is seen arriving at Bolton with the pan down and diesel engines running. Very quickly the pantograph was raised and the engines shut down before this Southport to Stalybridge service departed towards Salford Crescent.
