Barking: LUL S7, stock with a District Line service to Upminster, departing from Barking on 17th January 2019. On the right can be seen 357315 arriving with a C2C service to Fenchurch Street.
Bishopbriggs: By 1965, nearly all traffic in and out of Glasgow Queen St High Level was diesel operated. On summer Fridays and Saturdays, however, an afternoon service from Crail remained steam-hauled. On 13th August, Eastfield B1 61342 was in charge, seen here near Bishopbriggs.
ROF Rotherwas: This 'gate guardian' is an Andrew Barclay 0-4-0DM, built during 1941 to a War Office requirement, shown as ARMY 220. It is parked outside the Rotherwas Industrial Estate, five miles to the south of Hereford, marking the site's earlier role as ROF Rotherwas. An overhaul date on the brake cylinder indicates the loco may have been in service into the late seventies but that will have been at another site as ROF Rotherwas closed in 1967.
Sleaford South Junction: East Midlands Trains service to Peterborough comes across Sleaford South Jct (from Sleaford to the left) on a sunny afternoon in March 2011.
Shawfair: Sunday services on the Borders Railway returned in November following resolution of an industrial dispute which began in March this year. The photograph shows the 0911 Edinburgh - Tweedbank on the section between Newcraighall and Shawfair on Sunday 14 November 2021.
Blackpool North Pier: The diesel tram on the North Pier at Blackpool only operated from 1991 to 2004 but in 2021 the station at the landward end is still declaring 'Take the Train to the end of the Pier'. As it was only 250 yards long it was little used, although it did mean that the pier theatre could be reached undercover in inclement weather. Plywood boards still cover the tracks and so, in theory, the line could reopen but this seems unlikely.
Seafield Junction [CR]: A dog walker heading along the former Caledonian route from Leith East towards Seafield Junction on 7 September 2016. The replacement pedestrian bridge crosses what appears to be a disused secondary entrance to Seafield Crematorium, with the main entrance spanned by a similar bridge located just behind the camera (see image [[76538]]).
North Queensferry: Lost Railfreight 20066 and 20137 pass through North Queensferry with a Thornton to Mossend transfer in 1991. #COP26
Barrow-in-Furness Carriage Sidings: Train to nowhere! Points set for Northern Rail CAF dmu 195112, for the 13.52 service to Manchester Airport on 30th June 2021, but this was cancelled due to no driver. We were supposed to travel on this to Lancaster and catch an Avanti West Coast service to Glasgow Central but had to return to Carlisle via Whitehaven to catch an alternative connection. This was our Second attempt at the Cumbrian Coast, nice day out though!
Oxenholme Lake District: D345 and D213 head north through Oxenholme with the 'Double Scotch' railtour from Crewe to Edinburgh on 13 November 2021.
